United Way Worldwide created the United Way Irma/Maria Recovery Fund to support local communities in the Southeast United States and Caribbean affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. As part of the goal to build stronger communities, and to fight for every person in every community, we received the first installment of $22,500 of this fund to help meet storm-related needs and support mid and long-term recovery in coastal Georgia.  We place this money in the Community Emergency Needs Fund which was established by United Way of Coastal Georgia and Communities of Coastal Georgia to support charitable agencies delivering direct assistance to coastal Georgians affected by Hurricane Irma.
